The zari utilized in the majority of our sarees boasts a refined radiance and is of a premium quality. It’s distinct from artificial, imitation, or plastic zari, which tends to be overly glossy.
Sarees featuring authentic zari or pure silver zari will be explicitly indicated in the product description. These selections are generally priced at a higher range, contingent on the intricacy of the pattern and the extent of zari embellishment. We suggest opting for dry cleaning for your saree when it becomes truly essential. To prevent persistent creasing at specific spots, it’s advisable to occasionally air and re-fold your saree. In the case of delicate Kora sarees or fine Jamdanis, rolling them for storage is also an option.
For silk sarees, it’s recommended to store them in a breathable, uncolored muslin cloth within a dry environment. Guard against moisture exposure, which could potentially harm the saree or its zari work. Furthermore, take care to avoid ironing directly on the zari, and refrain from direct contact with perfumes.
Yes, all our sarees are woven with extra fabric of length approximately 0.8m to 1m for the blouse.
Regrettably, our current services do not encompass design customization. Presently, our design repertoire is exclusively composed of creations meticulously crafted by our in-house design team.
The intricate process of designing and weaving handloom products demands a substantial investment of time and effort. This intricate endeavor frequently involves months of meticulous planning and contributions from numerous adept specialists within our ranks.
Nonetheless, it’s worth noting that if your interest lies in restoring a heritage saree, we might be able to undertake such a revival project, contingent upon our available resources and capacity.
Within our organization, a dedicated in-house design team meticulously harmonizes colors and cultivates an overarching aesthetic vision. Each design is infused with the brand’s distinct color palette and identity, and extensive contemplation and strategizing underlie the manifestation of each individual product.
Regrettably, due to the intricate nature of this process, we are unable to accommodate requests for customization at this time.
All of Katansilk products use only pure natural yarns. All of our products are made from various forms of silk and cotton.
Ordering
If a product is not on our website, it means it is sold out for now and it is unavailable for order. Please get in touch with us through one of the channels mentioned if you would like us to double check for you.
We allow orders for certain products that are currently not in stock are still being woven.
Pre-Orders are advance orders that you can place for these products.
Each pre-order will have an expected despatch time mentioned in the product page.
Your order will be despatched once the product that you have ordered is ready.
We do not offer any discount. We believe that the prices of our products are commensurate with the exceptional quality of our fabrics and the rigorous craftsmanship that goes into their making.
You may put in a request to club multiple orders, but only before we have shipped your order.
Also, all of these orders must have the same billing and shipping details.
As soon as your order is shipped, we will send a mail with the tracking details which you can use to track your order.
You can also log into your account that you may have created while placing the order to see the status of your order. If you have not created an account, please do so with the same email id that you used to place your order.

Payment
Yes, we are committed to ensuring that your privacy is protected. Hence, all Credit/Debit card and bank details are kept confidential and private. Our trusted payment gateways use SSL encryption technology to protect your private information.

All our shipments are currently sent as Delivery Duty Paid. This means that you DO NOT need to pay any duty or taxes at the time of receiving your shipment.
In the exceptional circumstance that duty or taxes are levied on your parcel, please get in touch and we will help you resolve the matter.
Since we only make handwoven products, each piece can take several weeks to weave. In many cases, we do not have more than one piece of an item at a time. Hence unfortunately, it is not possible for us to hold products that have not been paid for.
For certain pre-orders with long durations, we allow a 50% payment at the time of placing the order and 50% when the product is ready. Please get in touch with us through one of the channels mentioned if you would like us help you here.
We don’t offer Cash on Delivery on our products. But trust us, you will love the quality of our fabrics and craftsmanship.
Delivery
Absolutely, we deliver shipments all over the world.
All our shipments are sent using reputed courier agencies. Shipments within India are sent through DTDC or Bluedart, while for international shipments we use DHL and UBX.
International shipments are delivered within 7-10 days. We will provide you with a tracking number to track your shipment online.
International shipping is free for orders above ₹25,000. For orders below ₹25,000, the approximate shipping charge for one saree is ₹2000. This would increase marginally with the number of products, for e.g., two sarees would have shipping charge of ₹2200, and so on.
We do not charge for shipping anywhere within India no matter how much you order for.
In case you haven’t received your order or you are unable to receive it, please call the customer service center of the courier service to get in touch with your courier delivery person.

Don’t worry, any courier service agency makes at least three attempts to deliver, as a standard policy. So in case you have missed it the first time please get in touch with the courier service agency. In case you are unable to contact the agency, we are here to do our best to help you out.
Return & Refund
Returns or exchanges are only possible in exceptional circumstances.

You could get a full refund only if you have received damaged, defective or wrong items. For more information please see our retun and refund policy page.
You may cancel your order before it has been shipped, provided that no tassels and/or fall pico have been added on your request. Should you cancel your order, you will receive a credit amount equivalent to the value of your order for any subsequent purchase on the website. If you wish to receive a refund instead, any bank processing charges will be borne by you and will be deducted from the total before the refund.

We maintain limited distribution for our products. Our products are only sold through our website, www.katansilk.com and through our experiential store in Varanasi.
In doing so, we are able to ensure extremely high quality standards and produce designs for our discerning patrons with a Katansilk aesthetic without ever compromising on the craft.

The standard dimensions of our sarees are:
Length: Between 5.4 mets and 5.6 mets (212 inches and 236 inches)
Width: Between 1.1 mets and 1.17 mets (44 inches to 46 inches)
Blouse piece: Between 0.8 mets and 1 met (31 inches and 39 inches)
